A newly surfaced video has brought to light Thomas Matthew Crooks, the individual who attempted to assassinate former President Donald Trump, being bullied during his high school years. Crooks can be heard repeatedly asking the classmate to “stop,” as the prankster laughs behind the camera.

The video has sparked intense reactions online. Some commenters argue that while bullying is tragic, it does not justify Crooks’ violent actions. “Being bullied doesn’t equate to an assassination attempt,” one user commented. Others expressed confusion over how Crooks managed to plan such a serious attack. “How does a kid like that pull off that level of planning?” asked another user. There was also commentary on the broader implications of bullying. “No matter how strong they are, silence can lead to internal rage,” one observer noted.

Thomas Matthew Crooks, who graduated from Bethel Park High School in 2022, was reportedly a victim of severe bullying, according to former classmates. They described him as a loner with a love for hunting outfits and video games. Former classmate Jason Kohler recounted to KDKA how Crooks was often targeted due to his distinctive clothing and solitary nature. “He was picked on for wearing hunting clothes to class,” Kohler said.

Crooks opened fire at a Trump rally in Pennsylvania, injuring the former president and two others, and killing firefighter Corey Comperatore. He was ultimately shot and killed by Secret Service snipers. Investigators discovered explosives in Crooks’ car, which was parked near the rally grounds. The motive behind the attack remains unclear, and the case continues to be a subject of investigation.

The resurfacing of this video has added another layer to the ongoing discussion about Crooks’ background and the factors that might have contributed to his drastic actions.
