Police investigate the scene at Bangkok's Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel where six foreigners were found dead, suspected of being poisoned.

Bangkok's police chief, Lt. Gen. Thiti Sangsawang, disclosed that the victims, three males and three females, were found foaming at the mouth. Their bodies were located in a room where they had been staying, despite having booked multiple rooms under different names at the hotel. Authorities are actively searching for a seventh person associated with the booking.

According to an officer from Lumpini police station, who spoke anonymously due to not being authorized to release details, there were no signs of a struggle in the room. The deceased were expected to have checked out earlier, but when a maid found the room locked and unresponsive to attempts to contact, the grim discovery was made.

Police investigations revealed uneaten food from room service and consumed drinks, suggesting that the deaths occurred approximately 24 hours before their bodies were found. However, the exact cause of death remains unconfirmed pending autopsies.

Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin visited the hotel, dismissing robbery or random assault as motives and assuring that the incident should not impact Thailand's tourism, a vital sector for the nation's economy.

Matthew Miller, a spokesperson for the U.S. State Department, expressed condolences over the deaths of the two American citizens involved. He stated that U.S. officials are closely monitoring the situation and prepared to provide consular assistance to the families affected.

The investigation into this tragic incident at the Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel continues as authorities await autopsy results to determine the cause of the deaths.
